According to Vedic tradition, these verses were sung countless millennia
ago by Lord Brahma, the first created being in the universe, just prior
to the act of creation. The Brahma samhita begins with the
enlightenment of Lord Brahma by Lord Sri Krishna Himself, the Supreme
Personality of Godhead, followed by Brahma’s extraordinarily beautiful
prayers in his moment of revelation, describing the kingdom of God –
the spiritual world, this cosmic manifestation, and qualities of Lord
Krishna, and His associates. This edition of Brahma Samhita is
translated and commented by Srila Bhakitisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura,
the guru of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON.

explains that no matter which practice you choose, success is only
achieved when bhakti is present. The object of yoga, the ultimate goal,
is to understand Krishna. Practicing Krishna consciousness means to
practice the topmost type of yoga. This topmost yoga system was
described by Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita to his most intimate friend
Arjuna, and Srila Prabhupada, the world renowned yoga master expands this
idea here for the benefit of society at large.

Lord Caitanya teaches the science of Krishna
Consciousness. That science is absolute. Dry mental speculators try
to restrain themselves from material attachment, but it is generally
found that the mind is too strong to be controlled and that it drags
them down to sensual activities. A person in Krishna consciousness does
not run this risk. One has to engage his mind and senses in Krishna
Conscious activities, and Lord Caitanya teaches one how to do this in
practice.
